The ELAM User Meeting 2025 at Kranichstein Hunting Lodge in Darmstadt offered an in-depth look at modern manufacturing processes and process optimization. Over three days, 26 participants from 15 different companies attended and experienced a diverse program, which, in addition to five exciting exhibits – including an ELAM single workstation, an assembly workstation with a SmartTower for connecting various screwdrivers, and a large Karakuri exhibit from item – also featured a variety of expert presentations.

The contributions from companies such as Armbruster Engineering, Bucher Hydraulics, Hettich-Heinze, John Deere, Bossard, Autokühler, Riese & Müller, Voith Turbo, Moog GAT and Erich Stallkamp showcased innovative approaches and practical solution strategies. They facilitated a valuable exchange on industry-specific challenges.

Following a successful welcome dinner on the first evening, the second day was dedicated to expert insights and success stories that paved the way for sustainable improvements in the production environment. The presentations offered insights into various topics – from cutting-edge software development and production planning to best-practice examples from industrial everyday life. This intensive day not only promoted knowledge transfer but also stimulated lively discussions that deepened the understanding of complex production processes.

On the evening of the second day, participants once again had the opportunity for informal exchange. Those who wished could take part in a guided castle tour organized by the Hessian Jägerhof Foundation and explore the historic ambiance. Alternatively, our colleague Ms. Miedtank invited attendees to a joint power walk – a welcome opportunity to get some fresh air and exercise before dinner.

The meeting concluded with practical tours of the Borg Warner plants in Darmstadt and Langen on the third day. These tours offered direct insights into state-of-the-art manufacturing processes and impressively demonstrated how technical innovations and efficient workflows are implemented in practice. Not only were current technologies presented, but potential for further developments was also discussed to meet the increasing demands of the industry.

The event impressively highlights how the ELAM software system acts as a central element of modern worker assistance systems and efficiently optimizes processes. At the same time, the importance of ELAM Enterprise and ELAM Solutions as integral components for industrial progress became clear. The comprehensive exchange and enriching insights demonstrated the value of looking beyond one's own horizons – an aspect that will continue to be a focus at future events.
This event once again demonstrated that interdisciplinary dialogue and mutual learning are crucial factors for mastering manufacturing challenges and driving sustainable innovation.
