Process Reliability: Quality That Lasts

Manual Assembly vs. Automated Assembly – Part 5: Ensuring Process Reliability

Even in manual assembly, process reliability and quality are essential. Smart camera systems play a key role by monitoring progress and detecting potential errors early. This reduces rework and minimizes the risk of customer complaints.

In-process inspections often outperform traditional end-of-line tests. By identifying and correcting errors immediately, production flow remains uninterrupted and costly mistakes are avoided. All inspection steps and assembly actions are documented within the ELAM system and stored in the product's digital lifecycle record. This documentation not only provides transparency but also serves as a solid foundation for audits and quality assurance.

Even without camera systems, process reliability can be significantly improved through the integration of automated inspection devices such as torque testers or displacement sensors. These tools reduce the burden on workers and ensure consistent product quality.
