TASK SETTING: A mechanical engineering company was planning to gradually secure its assembly processes.The goal was to secure their high diversity of variants with documentation in order to optimize the different qualifications and professional experience of the employees and the long training period for new employees.

 

SOLUTION: To start with one station, was equipped with ELAM START and Pick to Light. The focus was on recording unique serial numbers and variant information. Due to the smooth introduction and the good acceptance of the system by the employees from the beginning, workstations 2 and 3 were quickly equipped. Additional extensions were then requested and implemented, now with the full ELAM Enterprise system for 12 workstations in 4 assembly lines.

 

CONCLUSION: A convincing example of the application of our modular functions: Step by step, individual workstations can be expanded into extensive production lines. Flexible extensions, both in the connection of special hardware and in the subsequent connection of an ERP interface, enable a custom-fit solution for every application. All construction variants were created with the new flowchart of the ELAM 5 new generation. ELAM 5 initiates order feedback, organises batch production for the assembly sequence and optimises the logging of data. A large performance spectrum that was realised within one year.
